0324 KORRES COSMOPROF BOLOGNA 2024 EXHIBITION
Description
TRAIL [practice]’s design for Korres Cosmoprof 2024 Booth in Bologna, invites visitors on a journey of discovery into Korres’ new era, creating an environment that harmoniously balances elements of the past and the future, of the experienced and the unexpected.
In designing the Korres Booth the primary objective was to craft a space that encapsulates the brand’s core pillars: Greece, Nature, and Research. Defined by a strict, orthogonal structure made of galvanized scaffolding, the booth forms a stable enclosure that directs movement inward. This industrial design-inspired element emphasizes the space’s rigid framework, while a white curtain with leather straps introduces a softer boundary within the inside part of the shell. The curtain’s transparency, allowing light to diffuse freely, contrasts with the rigid metal frame, creating a discreet yet inviting barrier between the interior and exterior.
The custom-designed furniture, adorned with handcrafted woven details, enriches the space by introducing a tactile variety of textures and transforming the pavilion into a vibrant platform of interaction that embodies the brand’s values. TRAIL [practice]’s design invites visitors on a journey of discovery, cultivating an environment that harmoniously balances heritage with forward-looking vision.
Furniture, materials, textures, and colors are part of an architectural vocabulary developed to represent the Korres brand worldwide. The distinctive Nissos shelves, with wood-carved details that abstractly embody a neoclassical aesthetic, serve as the main display surfaces. The juxtaposition of elements reminiscent of traditional pharmacies with contemporary techniques and materials is further emphasized by the design choice of stainless steel counters, which morphologically resemble lab tables. These adaptable counters meet the commercial space’s requirements, functioning as display tables, shelves, or showcases for products. In line with the design intention of blending the old with the new, screens with vibrant blue cables have been installed to display information and images, providing visitors with a multifaceted experience. Furthermore, the inclusion of custom-designed furniture with handmade knitted details introduces a variety of textures, intensifying the space’s sensory impact. Together, these elements transform the booth into an interactive platform that engages visitors on multiple levels.
KORRES
From the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in Athens to Nolita in New York, and from the saffron fields of Kozani to Le Marais in Paris. From George Korres’ desire to highlight the endemic herbs of the remote Greek mountains and islands to his obsession with design. From Lena Filipou Korres’ commitment to and applied research to her sincere and transparent communication of the natural percentage in all KORRES products, through her own global initiative. From mapping the entire Greek endemic flora in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens to guiding primary research alongside the world’s leading scientific institutions. From the discovery of new natural actives to 87 global awards for innovation, entrepreneurship, and design. From the vineyards in the volcanic soil of Santorini to the first fully green and zero-waste extraction unit in Greece. From a natural syrup for sore throat to 500 safety and efficacy tests for every single formula. From a love for Greek tradition to recycling empty packaging and turning it into design objects. From the hands of local farmers to the hands of consumers in 50 countries.
TRAIL [practice] has crafted spaces of various sizes, from experience stores to shop-in-shops and exhibition booths, utilizing common expressive means, to represent KORRES on a global scale.
